SKIqaluit is now online!
At this date we have been running SKIqaluit for 5 years while we have been busy with our related studies, activities, training, exams and fieldwork. We have to acknowledge that until recently we have had little time to invest in a communications vehicle or a more solid platform to give us the exposure to say who we are and what we do!
That being said all our 'thoughts' and 'actions' along this path have finally crystallized into pictures and scripted words for us to share! We are now pleased to introduce SKIqaluit to our participants to whom we have a shared history. And to our new visitors we hope the site will let you know why we are here.
Thanks to the 'double time' efforts made by the coordination team of Spring 2009 and the 'mentorship' of Mr. Mario Bilodeau, prof at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, the SKIqaluit website is now officially part of the world wide web!
All the hard work has paid off: The website is already increasing our visibility amongst local, regional and international surfers. Our next important step will be to tender out the Inuktitut translation.
We are proud to finally share our history, our work and our passion. We would like to hear from you via email should you have any questions or comments.
Enjoy your visit!

The Challenge by choice team sailed down from Iqaluit to Apex on a makeshift sailing vessel over the weekend. Last saturday, Charlie, Bradley and Cassandra came on the sea ice to give a try to this salling machine. Mitch, Maxine, Maxime and Jeremy were also there to enjoy the 25 km/h of NW wind. Here are some pictures:
This event was lots of fun! Special thanks to Eric McNair Landry for the Kamotik.
